Ah… rest… Do you feel guilty when you rest? I know I do… and even more as a stay at home mom… I don’t want to look lazy! Honestly… I am realizing like a two year old that refuses to nap...that rest is not laziness.. that it has a purpose… to replenish us. God wants us to rest. Psalm 23:2-3 reminds us that God makes us to lie down in green pastures and leads us beside quiet waters and restores our soul. I agree with Joanne… probably the reason he makes us lie down is because otherwise we would keep running to get something done! God wants us to rest in Him. Remember our verse we started with? God wants to show us how to take a real rest… He encourages us that He is there waiting for us to spend time with Him and rest. We can run around like fugitives going from person to person telling our troubles and never quite feeling like we have found rest and answers...but God is offering us rest and refuge! Let's go to Him!
