J is Just Focus or Just ADJUST your Focus

This idea is really connected to the last one. Living simply involves changing our focus. Are we looking at quality or quantity? Are we looking at making things good for ourself or at things that are good for everyone? Are we looking at material things and getting ahead or at things that really matter in the end? Simplifying our focus is something God is interested in. In Jeremiah 32:39 God says, “I will give them singleness of heart and action so they will always fear me for their own good and the good of their children after them.” Singleness of heart and action… that sounds like focus, eh? And Jesus reminds us, “Give your entire attention (focus) to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow.” (Matthew 6:33)

If things are out of focus, we don’t see well, do we? Things are distorted… unclear. We don’t get a good picture when the camera is out of focus, right photo group? And I know when my camera decides to focus on one thing and I haven’t clicked the right button… that ONE thing is all that is clear. The rest of my picture is fuzzy. Here is the key… we need to look at what we are focusing on and determine if that is best. And the awesome news is this … God is interested in our focus. He wants to help focus our life. Are we looking through his lens or our own fuzzy lens?
