Like I said before,there are things we can do and start on our own to simplify. We can clean out closets. We can say no. But living simply involves others...it involves a bigger picture… people and things that sometimes we don’t even know or see. Our life is touched and touches those around us. God says we can build on rock through Him or build on sand. He says it is just that simple. He is the rock and the foundation on Him withstands trouble. Patterning our life or family on other people and what they are doing isn’t building on the rock. Making life simpler for my own gain isn’t building on rock. Seeking God’s wisdom for all my decisions IS building on the rock. And God reminds us to work together in life as a family and as a group , to be a team… that there is to be “None of this going off and doing your own thing.” (Colossians 3:15) Essentially… as much as we would like it to be true… this life thing simply doesn’t revolve around just us…There is a bigger picture of what we are to be doing and who our life affects. AND only God sees that picture!
